Hola! I'm Ximena, a visual & information designer based in Mexico City.
My journey in design is driven by a profound passion for bridging the gap between individuals and the immense sea of data and information. Through my work, I aim not just to present data, but to weave it into the very fabric of our understanding, fostering connections that inspire action and catalyze positive change.
I am proud to hold a bachelor's degree in Graphic Design from Universidad Iberoamericana, the leading school for graphic design in Mexico. My academic journey did not stop there; I have immersed myself in a diverse range of studies encompassing information design, visual storytelling, and business strategy at illustrious institutions such as Elisava, UAL Central Saint Martins, IDEO U, Centro, and ITAM. My commitment to my craft and my desire to continually push the boundaries of what is possible led me to recently complete a Master in Professional Studies in Data Analytics & Visualization at the Maryland Institute College of Arts.
In addition to my professional endeavors, I am deeply committed to nurturing the next generation of designers. I have the honor of teaching Information Design to undergraduate students at Universidad Iberoamericana. This role allows me to share my passion and knowledge with eager minds, helping to shape the future of the design industry. My teaching philosophy is rooted in the belief that great design is about more than just aesthetics; it's about creating meaningful connections between people and information. I strive to instill in my students the values of creativity, critical thinking, and a relentless pursuit of excellence.
Currently, I serve as the Chief Operating Officer at Mercatitlán, an innovative educational start-up that has made a significant impact on over 250,000 users across Latin America. In this role, I am dedicated to designing, develping and managing products that are not only effective but transformative. I believe in solving real-world problems, improving business practices, and significantly enhancing the quality of life for our users by making their businesses better. Through a blend of authenticity, emotion, professionalism, attention to detail, and originality, I craft inspiring stories and visualizations.
